Cloudbuster Fast Attack Corvette
The Fast Attack Corvette was designed independently of the Odyssey Project, a spin-off of technologies developed for the Odyssey Project, and an answer to the problem of fielding highly capable, battle-ready ships to meet the challenges of galactic exploration and defense against Aurelian aggression.
The ship can be operated by a crew as small as 100. Its primary propulsion system is a single, transverse-mounted Graviton Engine mounted in a ring in the aft section of the ship. The three large aft tailfins serve as long-range communications antennas and the racks in which the ship's sensors are housed. They also contain energy cells where the ship's tritium and deuterium stores are held.
Ten Aves can be held in two flight pods, located on either side of the main hull. However, FAC's are also capable of atmospheric penetration and landing operations.
The Fast Attack Corvette is especially popular with worlds where resources or technology are limited. They have become the ship of choice for colonies that have chosen not to join the New Commonwealth.
